Are you aware of climate justice issues? Are your actions hurting disenfranchised people worldwide? Do you want to take action and make a difference here at York and beyond?
The purpose of this climate justice unconference is to create a forum for students, staff, and faculty to have open conversations around social justice, human rights, sustainability, and climate change issues. The end goal is to create opportunities to work together in order to take action both personally and here at York University.
An unconference uses ‘open space technology’ to host a conference that allows participants to determine the agenda themselves at the start of the day within the scope of a particular topic. So YoU set the agenda!
This unconference is brought to you through the joint efforts of:

What day is it?
I like the creativity of this initiative.
I am a member of the largest organization of professional tree care workers in the world.
The International Society of Arboriculture.
I am helping to organize a conference in Feb. 2013 for the Ontario Chapter and would like to speak to someone about doing a presentation at the conference to engage all our members in dialogue to encourage measures to counter Climate Change in business and planning strategies.

Why are bees dying worldwide? Honey, a natural food with many medicinal qualities may soon disappear altogether from stores and our kitchen pantry shelves. Even worse, their demise may lead to famines around the world from reduced crop yiel…ds that depend on bees as crop pollinators. As bees are so important to our well being (except for bee stings) and the balance in nature, bees should be declared as an endangered species and be protected from what is killing them…

Now that our worries regarding “climate change” are without foundation, the focus of this unconference should be on the real and important things such as social justice, human rights and properly looking after the environment while meeting the needs of all the people.
