Ulrich Best is a DAAD Visiting Professor in Geography at York University’s Canadian Centre for German and European Studies. Ulrich has held positions in Leicester, Chemnitz and at UBC, as well as various visiting fellowships in Europe and the US. Ulrich has worked on questions of pipeline politics in Eastern Europe, and urban politics mostly in Berlin, for example focussing on the land use debate of a former airport field (Tempelhof). At York, Ulrich has organised a series of workshops and fieldtrips on energy-related issues, infrastructure and nuclear energy policy.
