- New Growth: Dialogues on the Tree - On March 31, 2012 the Art History Graduate Students Association held their 11th Annual Symposium at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg.
- Battle Lines Drawn: Resisting Ableism Through Creative Intervention - On February 7, 2012. Access York hosted Jeff Preston, a disability advocate specializing in creative intervention, for a discussion about his fight for disability rights.
- Workshop: Changing Frontiers of Ecological Knowledges: A Critical Dialogue on Asian Ecologies on the Edge - On October 12 and 13, 2011, the York Centre for Asian Research (YCAR) hosted a two-day interdisciplinary workshop to address how new strategies of documenting, monitoring and evaluating environmental change have led to a proliferation of ecological knowledge in Asia.
